Day 3

Thursday morning,Lexey and I woke up early and did a sealing session at the Palmyra temple. It is such a beautiful temple. It sits up on a hill and overlooks the Sacred Grove. It is one of the only temples that has a transparent window where you can actually look out and see the grove. Josh and Amanda went and did a session later that morning while Lexey and Sean watched Hallei. That afternoon we drove out to Fayette to the Peter Whitmer Farm. For all of you church history buffs out there, this is the place where the translation of the Book of Mormon was finished and where the church was organized.

This is the upper floor of the home. The room in the background is where the Prophet Joseph Smith slept and where he translated the Book of Mormon. The room in the foreground is where Oliver Cowdery sat and scribed for the prophet.

This is the main floor of the home and the place where the church was formally organized on April 6, 1830.
